Among the standout names, Egypt’s Mohamed Salah (Liverpool), Nigeria’s Victor Osimhen (Napoli), and Algeria’s Riyad Mahrez (Al Ahli) have all been recognized for their exceptional abilities.

Salah leads the pack with a rating of 89, maintaining his status as one of the best African footballers. Osimhen, coming off a stellar season, has earned an impressive 88 rating. Mahrez follows with an 86 rating.

The list also includes other highly-rated African talents, such as Senegal’s Sadio Mane (86) and André Onana of Cameroon (Manchester United, 85). In total, players from leading African nations such as Egypt, Nigeria, and Senegal dominate the rankings, reflecting their strength in world football.

The Premier League has announced the full official list of nominees for the player of the month award for January 2023.

A full list of nominees for the player of the month award has been revealed by the premier league’s organizers following a competitive month of January 2023.

After evaluating their great contributions to their individual club teams during all of the game weeks in January 2022, the league selected these football players. Seven players have been shortlisted for the January EA SPORTS Player of the Month award

This list was released earlier today, January 26, 2022, on the official website of the Premier League.

After putting in excellent performances throughout January, eight players have been shortlisted for the EA SPORTS Player of the Month award.

The public votes will be combined with those of a panel of football experts to decide the winner, who will be revealed next week.

Shortlist of EA SPORTS players:

The versatile defender shone for a Newcastle United defence that went the entire season without giving up a goal, even visiting league leaders Arsenal during that stretch.

The forward for Nottingham Forest was instrumental in their comeback in January, scoring twice against Leicester City in a local derby game and providing two assists overall.

The Manchester United star scored in three of his four games, including the Manchester derby’s deciding goal, continuing his scorching form. Having already won the award in September 2022, he is trying to take home the honour this season a second time.

Brentford conceded only one goal all month and that was in part thanks to the heroics of their goalkeeper, who made 11 saves.

• P3 W2 D1 L0 G1 A1 Bukayo Saka (ARS)

The 21-year-old winger has excelled for an Arsenal team that leads the league by five points. His two-goal contributions were in important victories; he provided an assist in the north London derby before scoring against Man Utd.

Fans of the football video game brand, EA Sports FIFA, have chosen their highly anticipated 2023 Team of the Year, which has been revealed.

From a selection of the top 100 footballers in the world, which included Lionel Messi and Iago Aspas, fans were invited to select a starting XI.

So without further, here’s who was chosen:

• FIFA 23 Team of the Year:

GK – Thibaut Courtois – A UEFA Champions League winner in 2022, Courtois cemented himself as an all-time great over the last 12 months.

RB – Achraf Hakimi – With Trent Alexander-Arnold not impressing as much as he has in previous years, Hakimi took the crown as ‘best right-back in the world’ in 2022.

CB – Virgil van Dijk – Imperious in the first half of 2022…not so much in the second.

CB – Eder Militao – Surprisingly made the cut ahead of his centre-back partner David Alaba.

LB – Theo Hernandez – One of the best-attacking full-backs around, Theo Hernandez was key to Milan winning their first Scudetto in a decade.

Newcastle United continued to play well as they battled for a top-four spot, dropping just two points and giving up just one goal in four games. Outstanding performances led to victories of 4-1 and 3-0 over Southampton and Leicester City, respectively.

• P4 W4 D0 L0 GD+6 Jurgen Klopp (LIV)

For the first time this season, Klopp’s team won four consecutive Premier League games. During that stretch, Liverpool also won their first two away games of the season, 2-1 at Tottenham Hotspur and 3-1 at Aston Villa.

The Brazilian was a pillar of strength in the middle of Manchester United’s midfield, guiding them to victories over Fulham, Nottingham Forest, and Wolverhampton Wanderers. Another assist came from Casemiro.

• P4 W2 D1 L1 G4 A0 Erling Haaland (MCI)

The Manchester City forward scored four goals in November and December, which was the most of any Premier League player. He scored the game-winning goal in stoppage time against Fulham, and with a brace against Leeds United, he set a record for the quickest player to achieve 20 Premier League goals. Against Everton, he also scored.

• P4 W2 D2 L0 G0 A1 CS1 Ben Mee (BRE)

The Brentford centre-back helped the club to some outstanding results as they claimed a stunning 2-1 win at Man City, beat London rivals West Ham United and claimed a draw against Tottenham Hotspur, climbing into the top half.

The winger for Newcastle United is just the second Paraguayan to win the award, following Roque Santa Cruz in 2007 when playing for Blackburn Rovers.

Almiron netted a league-high six goals in October, scoring in five of his six games for Newcastle.

He scored a stunning goal as Newcastle defeated Aston Villa 4-0 and made an excellent curling finish in a 4-1 triumph at Fulham.

Almiron is the first Newcastle player to win Player of the Month since Joe Willock in May 2021, and it is his second solo honour after earning the Budweiser Goal of the Month award in April 2022.

The 28-year-old was chosen from a shortlist of eight candidates, including Granit Xhaka, Kepa Arrizabalaga, Kevin De Bruyne, Bruno Guimaraes, Erling Haaland, Kieran Trippier, and Leandro Trossard.

Almiron won after a public vote on the EA SPORTS website was combined with those of a panel of football experts.

After the voting was combined Manchester United superstar, Marcus Rashford won the September EA SPORTS Player of the Month award.

The 24-year-old topped a six-man shortlist that also included Philip Billing, Kevin De Bruyne, Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, Alex Iwobi and Jacob Ramsey.

He won after the public’s votes on the EA SPORTS website were combined with those of a panel of football experts.

The Manchester United star claims the prize after being involved in all four of his side’s goals in the wins over Leicester City and Arsenal that extended their winning run.

Rashford scored both of his September goals in the same match as Man Utd ended Arsenal’s perfect start to the season, but it was his involvement in the other goal against the Gunners that stands out for him.

“It’s a good feeling,” Rashford said. “We didn’t start the season so strongly so to get four wins on the bounce is really good.

“It’s still fairly new with the manager and we’ve got much better at doing the things he wants us to. But there are still a lot of steps to take and we’re all looking forward to doing that together.”

My favourite moment from September was probably an assist, actually!” he said.

“[It was for] Antony scoring his first goal on his debut. I think that was a massive moment. It gave us strength and courage. Seeing him come into the team and score a goal straightaway is massively important.

“I think it also helps with him settling into a new club, with new surroundings. Scoring goals is the best way to help that so I was very happy he scored that goal and we went on to win the game [against Arsenal] too.”
