American rap icon Dwayne Michael Carter, Jr., better known as Lil Wayne, has finally broken his silence regarding his absence from the highly anticipated 2025 Super Bowl halftime show.

The rapper, who hails from New Orleans, admitted that being overlooked for the performance was a significant disappointment.

The Super Bowl halftime show is one of the biggest cultural stages in the world, having featured stars like Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Beyoncé, Shakira, Rihanna, and Eminem in past years.

With the upcoming Super Bowl set for February 9, 2025, in New Orleans for the 11th time, many fans had expected Lil Wayne to headline the show in his hometown.

“It made me feel like s–t for not getting this opportunity, and when I felt like s–t, y’all reminded me that I ain’t s–t without y’all. That’s an amazing reality.

I let all of y’all down by not getting that opportunity. But I’m working on me, and I’m working.”

Rolling Stone has returned with a new list in honour of hip-hop songs of all time for its 50th anniversary following the release of its divisive list of the 200 Greatest Rap Albums of All Time

The 100 Best West Coast Hip-Hop Songs of All Time were ranked this time. The list, which spans artists like Ice-T and E-40, was put together by the magazine’s editors and critics and included classics by Tupac, Dr Dre, and N.W.A. as well as contemporary anthems by Kendrick Lamar, The Game, and Saweetie.

Additionally, some placements are sure to spark discussion. Tyler the Creator’s 2011 breakthrough hit “Yonkers” scores shockingly high at No. 19, while Snoop’s “Ain’t No Fun (If The Homies Can’t Have None)” just cracks the top 50 at No. 49. The popular party song “California Love” by Tupac, however, failed to break the top 10.

The top 10 is dominated by timeless songs like Snoop’s “Gin and Juice,” Ice Cube’s “It Was a Good Day,” and Too $hort’s “Blow the Whistle,” with Nipsey Hussle’s “Last Time That I Checc’d” coming in at No. 11. The winning song is “Nuthin’ But A ‘G’ Thang” by Dr. Dre.

American DJ and record executive DJ Khaled has revealed how Dr. Dre, Kanye West, and Eminem’s “Use This Gospel” remix landed on his latest studio album, GOD DID.

In an interview with Zane Lowe on Apple Music 1, the producer stated that explained how Ye’s song wound up on his album as a Dr. Dre-produced reimagining, now featuring Eminem.

Khaled recalled:

“It’s 8 in the morning, [Kanye] just showed up to my house. I didn’t even know he was coming. He tells the chef to make some eggs with ketchup, and he had a drink,”

“We go to my studio. I play him music. He plays me music. We both inspiring each other. He plays me an incredible album that he did with one of my idols, Dr. Dre. He played it from top to bottom for me. I couldn’t believe what I was hearing. We had a great get-together at the crib, he leaves.”

The artist explained that that happened a year and a half ago, but more recently, he told his famous friend, “I got an idea. I remember you playing me this Dr. Dre, Eminem, Kanye record and y’all were talking about God. Y’all were speaking that gospel. I said that would be beautiful if we could put that on GOD DID. And Ye hits back and says, ‘I love the idea.’ Ye don’t love no idea.”

By chance, Slim Shady and the co-founder of Beats Electronics agreed to assist Khaled, and the remix was subsequently created.

The 46-year-old native of New Orleans has revealed a behind-the-scenes video of Dr. Dre and Kanye West in the studio creating the song while he continues to celebrate the release of the album.

Pheelz is now in the United States, where he has met with prominent superstars such as Diddy and Dr. Dre, among others and has been sharing some lovely pictures from his trip to the US.

In a series of photos uploaded on the ‘Electricity’ crooner’s Twitter page, another Nigerian producer and disc jockey, DJ Spinall was also spotted at the meet up which took place at Dr Dre’s studio.

In a recent video shared by Pheelz, Dr. Dre disclosed that the Nigerian music producer gave him a Yoruba name, Mayowa.

Captioning the video, Pheelz wrote:

Pheelz also revealed that during the meeting, Jimmy described him as “one of the coldest writers that he has ever seen”.

DJ Khaled is about to make history with his forthcoming album, God Did which features artists like Jay-Z, Lil Wayne, Kanye West, Eminem, Dr. Dre, Juice WRLD, Drake, and others.

If there is one thing you can count on from a DJ Khaled album, it is a great lineup of features. Over the course of his career, Khaled has relied heavily on his collaborators to help bring his vision to life.

Some of the features on God Did have been teased by Khaled. He announced that Jay Z will appear on the project, while Drake and Lil Baby helped launch the campaign earlier this month with “Staying Alive.”

Khaled formally announced the tracklist for God Did just one day after revealing the album’s cover art. The album will have 18 tracks in all, including some amazing guest appearances, even by Khaled’s standards.

Drake appears on the album’s intro, “No Secret,” as his second feature on the album.

Meanwhile, Jay Z’s verse is included on the title track alongside Rick Ross, Lil Wayne, John Legend and Fridayy.

On Monday, February 14th, 2022 Dr. Dre performed at Sofi Stadium in Inglewood, California.

Rapper Eminem sparked a frenzy on social media after taking a knee, a significant pose to protest against police brutality and racial inequality, which was first pulled off by former San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick in 2016.

The protest eventually drew the player heavy black lash, including from then-President Trump.

In an interview with TMZ, The American rapper indicated that Eminem’s decision to take the knee was entirely his choice.

The New York rap mogul made the announcement via Instagram, on the 11 of January stating that the project is done.

He also thanked and appreciated his friend and frequent collaborator DJ Kay Slay.

The special message came as seeks to help DJ Kay Slay get through a difficult period as he’s reportedly battling the COVID-19 virus. He is fighting on, according to his brother.

Busta’s post didn’t come without a little snippet of what’s to come, and he played some new music which was produced by Khrysis. He also gave a big shout-out to Dr. Dre, and DJ Kay Slay in his lyrics.
