Nigerian artist Michael Adebayo Olayinka, known by his stage name Ruger, has boldly declared his independence from a certain ‘godfather’ figure in the music industry.

In a trending video, the ‘Asiwaju‘ crooner announced his departure from loyalty to an unspecified godfather, emphasizing that this year is all about focusing on himself.

Ruger’s declaration came through a freestyle that circulated online shortly after his departure from music executive D’Prince’s label, Jonzing Records.

On February 6, Ruger took to Instagram to announce his exit from Jonzing World, expressing gratitude to the record label and D’Prince while affirming his decision to bet on himself.

In a subsequent release under his newly established label, Blown Boy Entertainment, Ruger solidified his stance by denouncing godfatherism in a freestyle titled ‘Blownboy,’ asserting himself as his own boss.

“I denounce every loyalty to some godfather, this year I’m about me,” Ruger sang.

Formerly under D’Prince’s wing, the sensational singer revealed on his social media platforms that he is parting ways with his previous record label to establish his very own, “BLOWNBOYENT.”

Ruger, recognized for contributing to chart-topping hits in the Nigerian music scene, has played a crucial role in putting Afro-beat on the global map. His influence in the industry has now led him to venture into creating his own space with the launch of “BLOWNBOYENT.”

Mp3bullet.ng presents Nigerian Songs turning 10 in 2022.

For Nigerian music, 2012 was a defining moment. It not only saw enormous performers like D’Prince, Timaya, and 2Baba drop tunes that turned every party into a party, but it also saw the emergence of beloved singers like Wizkid, Olamide, and Davido.

Music can act as a time capsule, releasing memories and treasures from a previous era. Songs that were once considered fresh and trendy have been resurrected to bring back nostalgic recollections.

With that in mind, what better time than now to go back to 2012 and reminisce about some of the best bops and bangers that will be turning 10 in 2022.

These are the top 10 Nigerian albums with no bad song

Hundreds of albums have been released per year for the past two decades, I estimate and here are the top 10 Nigerian albums with no bad song

However, only a small percentage of those ever become hits. Some become hits and become well-known for a period of time. Then only a small percentage of those become classics.

Top 10 Nigerian albums with no bad song

There’s a small percentage of albums that are all hits and no misses among that group. That is extremely uncommon. That’s something we only receive once in a while.

An album on which every song is a banger and there isn’t a single moment of silence? It has to be really rare.

But, without a question, we’ve been fortunate enough to have those once or twice. And it’s virtually always enchanted.

Anyway, without further ado, here are eleven modern Nigerian albums with no poor songs on them. Which one is your personal favourite?

Kizz Daniel — No Bad Songz (2018)

This happens to be the album that solidified the very concept of ‘no bad songs.’ After his successful debut, Kizz Daniel felt it’d make sense if he did one album with no single filler. Then he did “No Bad Songz.”

Since Ruger debuted at the beginning of 2021, many fans have been curious about the eye patch which he wears on his left eye.

When asked if his female fans were in love with the patch, the singer said that at first they didn’t understand it but with time alongside his music, his hair and looks, they fell in love with the trademark.

Recall, that Mp3bullet.ng reported that Ruger shared how his boss D’Prince met and signed him to Jonzing records.

According to him, he used to repair phones in computer village and at the same time drop freestyle son Instagram.

D’prince who came across his page contacted him on Instagram and from there, the rest is history.

The “Bounce” crooner claims he used to work as a phone repairer at Computer Village, a major technological marketplace in Nigeria until D’Prince discovered him on Instagram and signed him.

“I used to work in Computer Village, repairing phones and all, so in my spare time, I just do freestyles and post it on Instagram. Thank God for the internet, it has made it easy for talents to be discovered.

All of a sudden I just saw a DM from D-Prince. He was in America at that time with Rema on tour, so he told me that he’s coming back very soon and that he wants to start working with me.

I was just like “is this it?” let me sleep small and wake up. I slept and my sister woke me up, she was using my phone that time; she told me that D-Prince texted again that he’s coming on this day,” he said.
