Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp was ecstatic with his team’s performance against Aston Villa on Sunday.

Klopp was pleased with his team’s performance after their 3-0 demolition of Villa. They were able to earn all three points on the day with two goals from forward Mohamed Salah and new midfielder Dominik Szoboszlai, as well as a gift own goal from Matty Cash of Villa.

“The boys not only listened in the meetings they executed brilliantly,” Klopp told Sky Sports. “What was really pleasing is that we scored two goals from set pieces and one was an own goal. We need to be 100 percent in the set piece moments as well and that was really cool.”

The Reds are now third in the Premier League standings after four games without a loss. After a shaky debut against Chelsea that ended in a 1-1 draw, they have already won three straight matches, outscoring their opponents 8-2.

Prior to their return to Premier League action on September 16 against Wolves, the Reds manager will see his star players leave for international duty.

The 22-year-old made an impression against Bournemouth on his maiden start at Anfield last week, winning the hearts of the Liverpool supporters right away.

The midfielder stated what he hopes to do in his debut season on Merseyside before the Reds’ trip to Newcastle on Sunday, and he’s set some high standards.

Speaking to the Liverpool Echo, the Hungarian said: “We will see. We have a lot of games. [Manchester City] mainly have a lot of games and we have to play against them as well. I think everybody in the Premier League who has a chance to win, they are going to want to win anyway. We are thinking the same. Like, I am thinking the same but probably the other guys are going to think the same if you ask them.

“I am this type, I like to win, I like to do everything for the team. If they ask me if I want to win the Premier League, of course I want to win it. If I want to win the Europa League and the FA Cup, the same. Everything we can do this year. I want to win everything because nobody is going to ask you how it feels to be second.”

He also touched upon his friendship with Manchester City’s prolific striker: “He is probably [living] two houses next to me. We were speaking but they played the [Super Cup] final in Greece, we have our trainings, we also play away. It is going to take time until we find a solution and we see each other. We will see.”

Szoboszlai appears to be completely at ease in the center of Liverpool’s midfield and is also aware of what it takes to succeed. He has nine medals to his name in six seasons of senior football, most recently the German Cup in June with Leipzig.

He scored that evening in Berlin, and it is obvious that he hopes to repeat the feat at Anfield.

There is still a lot more football to be played before the midfielder can reach his own expectations at the end of the season. When Liverpool travels to Newcastle later on Sunday, the Hungarian will almost definitely start from the opening kickoff.

Jurgen Klopp is optimistic about Dominik Szoboszlai’s future after a fast start to his Liverpool career.

The Hungarian has been the star performer in Liverpool’s new-look midfield, playing in a more withdrawn role than he did at RB Leipzig.

Liverpool has four points from their opening two games, drawing at Chelsea before defeating Bournemouth 3-1 at Anfield, and Szoboszlai has shined in both, covering the most distance of any player in the latter.

At St. James’ Park, Newcastle presents Liverpool with its third test of the year. Klopp spoke to Sky Sports on the influence of Szoboszlai ahead of the game, describing what he likes about the midfielder’s playing and what fans can expect to see in the future.

“His energy, combined with technique, desire…pretty much all attributes you want to see,” Klopp remarked about the things he likes about Szoboszlai.

“The last thing you would think when you see him playing is that he is only 22. So there’s a lot more to come, when he settles in.

“Obviously he has no problem to adapt to everything in an instant. There’s still more to come and we are really pleased. From the first day he is full of energy, in the middle of the team already. He just loves playing this kind of football. I think he plays a different position to what he played at RB Leipzig, for example, but with his skillset he can probably play higher up the pitch as well.

“He has the speed to pass players. He has the technique, he has the finishing skills – we didn’t even see them yet properly, but his shooting is really special. We put him now slightly deeper and more in the game. He obviously enjoys that a lot and he’s doing well. He’s doing really well.”

In the midst of speculation of moving Mohamed Salah to the Saudi Pro League, Klopp reaffirmed his conviction that the Egyptian is “100 percent committed” to Liverpool.

Mp3bullet understands Saudi chiefs are keen to make Salah the highest-paid player in world football, with Al Ittihad weighing up whether to make an offer before the English transfer window closes on September 1.

Even if a bid does not come, Saudi Arabia will probably make another attempt to sign Salah in 2024, which was the original deadline they set for both Salah and Juventus midfielder Paul Pogba.

In light of the dearth of players in the centre of the pitch, Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has stated that summer signing Alexis Mac Allister has the skills to play in a deeper midfield position.

Since the end of the previous season, the Reds’ midfield has been completely ravaged. As unrestricted free agents, James Milner, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, and Naby Keita all departed the club. Fabinho and Jordan Henderson were later sold to Al Ittihad and Al Ettifaq, respectively.

Despite costing more than £100 million combined, neither Mac Allister nor Dominik Szoboszlai is regarded as a defensive midfielder.

Due to ongoing construction at Anfield, Klopp set up his players in a 4-2-3-1 system for Monday’s preseason victory over Darmstadt at Preston’s Deepdale. Mac Allister was asked to play in the ‘number six’ position for the first time.

“We have to try it and test a couple of different things,” the boss explained, although he is only willing to use that option in certain circumstances.

“Yes, in a compact formation, Alexis can definitely play there. If he’s there alone, should he play there? No. But now he showed just how good a footballer he is and how good he understands the game because he played there now [for] the first time, for us at least, and he did really well.”

Liverpool is still interested in Southampton’s Romeo Lavia as a potential solution to their problems. Three offers—the first at £35 million, the second at £42 million, and the third at £45 million—have previously been turned down for the 19-year-old. Southampton has reportedly demanded £50 million throughout.

The Reds are also keeping an eye on Andre Trindade, a 22-year-old midfielder for Fluminense.

Liverpool have announced the signing of Dominik Szoboszlai from RB Leipzig.

After signing in Alexis Mac Allister earlier in the summer transfer season, the Reds have gotten a second midfielder.

They have moved quickly to sign Hungary international Szoboszlai. We revealed on Wednesday that contact had been made with the player’s camp and he was keen on a move to Anfield.

It is understood that Newcastle United, who lost out on James Maddison to Tottenham Hotspur, had expressed interest in Szoboszlai but were turned off by his high release clause.

Liverpool agreed to put Szoboszlai’s £60 million release clause on the table on Friday after previously signalling they were hesitant to do so. He then travelled to Merseyside for his medical.

Liverpool have now announced that Szoboszlai’s move to Anfield is complete.
