Afro Nation is gearing up for a spectacular celebration of its 5th anniversary with a star-studded lineup for its three-day festival, set to take place from July 9–11, 2025, on the breathtaking Praia da Rocha beach in Portimão, Portugal.

Leading the lineup is Afrobeats titan Davido, who makes his highly anticipated return to the Afro Nation main stage after headlining its inaugural edition in 2019. Joining him are powerhouse headliners Burna Boy and Grammy-winning singer Tems, promising electrifying performances that will set the stage ablaze.

Adding to the excitement are newly announced performers such as French rap icon Booba, Jamaican dancehall sensation Dexta Daps, French artist Joé Dwèt Filé, Cape Verdean singer Ronisia, and rising stars from the Amapiano scene, including Felo Le Tee, LeeMcKrazy, Scotts Maphuma, and The Therapist.

Afro Nation has firmly established itself as the ultimate summer destination for African music and culture, bringing together the biggest names in Afrobeats, Amapiano, and beyond.

As The Malachite Group (TMG) stated, “Davido’s return to the Afro Nation main stage is a testament to the festival’s growth and influence. Our 5th anniversary will be a massive celebration, packed with surprises and not-to-be-missed events.”

Heavyweight Nigerian artist David Adedeji Adeleke, who is professionally known as Davido, has shared the story of how a well-known Nigerian celebrity inspired him to name his most recent album “Timeless.”

An industry colleague inspired the award-winning Afrobeats singer to title his latest album “Timeless.”

After the release of ‘A Better Time,’ ‘A Good Time,’ and ‘Omo Baba Olowo (The Genesis),’ the international superstar released his most anticipated studio album, ‘Timeless,’ with 17-track and special guest appearances from Asake, Logos Olori, The Cavemen, Skepta, Dexta Daps, Morravey, and other artists. This marked his official return in March and set new records for African musicians all over the world.

The “TIMELESS” album by the DMW boss received the most first-day streams of any African album on Apple Music.

Davido’s highest charting project “TIMELESS” made its official debut at #2 on the Billboard World Music chart.

The fourth album in Davido’s illustrious discography has continued to rule the music landscape both nationally and internationally.

The DMW frontline artist and owner said in an interview with London-based radio station Capital Extra that Mavin Records leader and legendary music producer Don Jazzy gave him the idea to name his album “Timeless.”

Davido went on to say that even though they altered the album’s name approximately five times, he and his crew decided that “Timeless” made more sense in the end.

Nigerian singer, Davido opened up after he met one of his album collaborators, Jamaican dancehall artist, Dexta Daps.

The singer in an interview with Kiss Fm London, spoke on how he met Dexta Daps and got him to appear on his “Timeless” album.

According to Davido, he met Dexta through Jamaican Dancehall artist, Popcaan while they were booked for the same show in Bahamas.

He stated that they had been friends for like six months before the issue of collaborating came up and that Dexta checks up on him regularly which helped build their friendship.

“Me and Dexta we were friends like six months before we made music. First time I met him, Obviously through Popcaan I think but they booked us for the same show, I think in Bahamas or something. And then we met like backstage obviously and from there we just started being friends. And you know was in New York one time, he was in New York. we hung out for a couple of days, came to Miami with me. You know what I am saying. He prays for me, he calls me, he checks on me. You know what I am saying, like a real friend. Obviously we got to, you know, doing the music later on. When I’m collaborating, I like collaborating with things like this because you know when that synergy is there. Its natural, so you want to promote the song. Anytime he has a show, I’m around. I’ll pop up”

On March 31st, 2023, Davido released his album “Timeless,” and within a short period, it achieved a number of successes.

Nigeria and the rest of the world came to a complete stop when Davido, an Afrobeats singer, released one of the largest and most awaited projects in history on March 31, 2023.

Following the horrible event in 2022, Davido went months without speaking, but his fourth studio album, Timeless, showed the world once again why he is regarded as one of the biggest African artists in the world today.

Nigerian musicians such as Asake, Fave, The Cavemen, DMW’s newest members, Morravey and Logos Olori, as well as Grammy-winning Beninese singer Angelique Kidjo, British rapper Skepta, South African music producer/DJ Musa Keys, Jamaican dancehall/reggae singer Dexta Daps, and South African rapper Focalistic make appearances on the album.

Despite an earlier partial leak, Davido’s ‘Timeless‘ album has been smashing and establishing records since its debut.

Here are the successes the album has recorded so far;

• The Most Streams For An African Album On Spotify On The First Day.

On the first full day of monitoring, 8.4 million streams of “Timeless” were recorded. It became the first African album to record that many streams on the first day of release with this total number of streams.

• The most streams for a song on the Nigerian chart of Spotify.

On the Spotify Nigeria chart for a song’s largest first day streams, Davido was among the top 16 artists. On the first day of tracking, ‘Over Dem‘ ranked top with almost 460,000 streams.

• Album record on Boomplay.

Davido’s album “Timeless” became the first in Boomplay history to reach 10 million stream milestone so quickly.

On April 1, 2023, the popular album broke the milestone of 10 million streams. It also holds the record for breaking the one million streams barrier the quickest, barely 24 hours after release.

Davido’s ‘Timeless’ album also broke the record for the biggest first-day streams on Boomplay— the largest music digital streaming platform in Africa.

The album tallied 7.25M streams on opening day surpassing the previously set record by Burna Boy’s “Love, Damini” (3.38M).

• Top Albums Record on Apple Music UK.

‘Timeless‘ debuted at number one on the Apple Music Top Albums chart in the United Kingdom, making it only the second afrobeats album to do so.

• Top Songs Chart Record on Apple Music.

The entire ‘Timeless‘ album by Davido debuted in the top 100 of the UK’s Apple Music top songs chart, making it the first and only afrobeats album to do so. The singer also made history by becoming the first afrobeats artist to have 10 singles debut in the top 200 on the US Apple Music Top Songs list.

• Highest-charting African album in Apple Music history in the US

Davido’s album “Timeless” became the highest ranking album by an Afrobeats artist less than 24 hours after its release, peaking at Number 2 on the US Apple Music Album chart.

• The most streams on Audiomack on the first day.

On Monday, April 3, 2023, Audiomack declared via their verified Twitter profile that Davido’s “Timeless” has surpassed their previous record for the largest album first-day streaming.

“RECORD-BREAKING: @davido’s #Timeless had over 12 MILLION streams in its first 24 hours, more than any other album on Audiomack, ever!,” Audiomack Africa tweeted.

Nigerian afrobeat superstar David Adedeji Adeleke, known professionally as Davido, has finally releases his eagerly awaited album, “Timeless,” along with a touching message to his fans and his wife, Chioma Rowland.

The music superstar announced the release of the 17-track album to his numerous social media fans in the early hours of Friday, March 31st, 2023.

“Timeless” features Nigerian musicians Fave, Asake, and The Cavemen, as well as Skepta, a British-Nigerian rapper, Angelique Kidjo, a multi-Grammy award winner, Musa Keys, a South African vocalist, and Dexta Daps, a Jamaican Dancehall phenomenon.

In addition to thanking his fans and those who helped bring Timeless to completion, Davido reflected on his life’s journey from his previous album to this one.

Nigeria superstar, Davido has made the tracklist for his upcoming album “Timeless” available.

Fans have been anticipating the release of Davido’s fourth album since he revealed he was working on it in 2022.

The award-winning hitmaker has officially revealed the tracklist for the album, which will be released on March 31, 2023.

On March 29, 2023, the album tracklist was announced throughout Davido’s social media platforms, and the announcement sparked excitement among fans.

There are 17 tracks on the album, and intriguing Nigerian and international artists including Fave, Asake, and Cavemen are featured on some of them.

In terms of foreign collaborations, there is the British-Nigerian rapper Skepta, the Grammy winner Angelique Kidjo, the South African vocalist Musa Keys, and the Jamaican dancehall icon Dexta Daps.
