In an Instagram post, Davido said the competition was to celebrate the release of the visuals for ‘La La’, a track off his 2020 album ‘A Better Time’, featuring Ckay.

According to him, the winner of the competition would go home with a cash prize of 10,000 dollars.

“My people! Tag someone who you think can win my global talent competition! Calling all singers and dancers. I am giving away 10,000 dollars in cash and a chance to go live with Me on IG by hosting a global talent competition in partnership with @orbiiitapp,” he wrote.

He recently marked his ten years in the music industry anniversary. Davido came into the spotlight following the release of ‘Back When’ and ‘Dami Duro’, his hit singles in 2011.

The ‘OBO’ crooner has since established himself as a household name in the global music landscape with numerous awards and recognition.

Meanwhile, Davido has been accused of stealing his song, “Jowo” from another artist, Victor AD. This allegation was made by a Twitter user who claimed it have heard it from an interview.

However, Victor AD debunked the claim and Davido’s lawyer, Prince confirmed this and revealed that DMW signee, Deinde co-wrote the song alongside the DMW Label boss.

Yesterday, the 11th of May, Davido trended on Twitter after a tweep had accused of stealing his hit song, “Jowo” from Victor AD.

According to the Tweep, he heard this allegation from Victor AD himself in an interview with Hip TV. However, Victor AD came out on Twitter to debunk the rumour saying he didn’t write the song.

Davido’s lawyer, Prince also confirmed this, revealing that apart from the DMW Label boss, only Deinde, a DMW signee is part of the songwriting crew for the song.

Davido took to Twitter in the heat of the discussion to write;

Recall that Davido was called out by a Twitter user who claimed the award-winning singer stole his hit single ‘Jowo’ from Victor AD. According to him, Victor AD himself revealed this during an interview with HipTv.

Though Victor AD has come out to debunk such a story, Davido’s lawyer has decided to shed more light on the drama.

Prince Bobo in a new post via his Twitter handle disclosed who owns the song Jowo and the producers behind it.

Reacting to the story, he tweeted:

“As far as I know, Jowo was performed by Davido, written by David Adeleke & Oladeinde Okubajo aka @Davido & @Deindeofficial and prod by Jerry Jethro & Peter A. Kehinde Emmanuel aka Napji & Majicboi. That’s as far as I know. Don’t shoot me I’m just the guy that did the paperwork :)”.
