Nigerian music icon Darey Art Alade and his wife, Deola Art Alade, are counting their blessings after surviving a terrifying car fire on Lagos’ Third Mainland Bridge. The couple’s Range Rover SUV was destroyed in the blaze, but—most importantly—no lives were lost.

Deola took to Instagram to share the harrowing experience, posting videos that showed their vehicle engulfed in flames and later reduced to ashes. In her emotional caption, she expressed deep gratitude that their driver escaped unharmed.

“It was a shocking and painful experience, but we’re incredibly grateful that the driver made it out safely. No lives were lost, and that’s what truly matters,” she wrote.

Videos from the scene captured the moments smoke billowed from the vehicle’s engine while bystanders rushed to help. Firefighters eventually arrived and managed to extinguish the flames, but by then the vehicle was beyond recovery.

Deola also used the moment to reflect on life’s fragility and the impermanence of material possessions.

“Moments like this remind us how quickly things can change and how unimportant material things become in the face of life itself,” she shared. “We’re not sharing this for sympathy but to remind someone that things can be replaced. Lives cannot.”

The incident has sparked an outpouring of support from fans and fellow celebrities, with many praising the couple’s gratitude and perspective in the face of such a frightening ordeal.

Darey – Pray For Me

This song by Darey demonstrates how literally adulthood can at times be viewed as a journey. It takes some self-awareness, rebellion, and risk for some people to mature on their own terms.

The main character in Darey’s tale leaves home without his father’s approval in order to make his way in the world. Darey spends the three minutes writing letters home, expressing the gravity of his choice and pleading for his father’s acceptance.

In the first verse, Burna Boy reflects on his state of maturity so far and how he doesn’t ‘subscribe to guys on the internet, Living for the clout, telling lies to the press again’.

The chorus which is sung by Stormzy makes one reflects on the many blessings of life even in the midst of challenges.

Stormzy’s chorus perhaps serves as a moral or an explanation for this spiritual video: “Real life is for living, use this life that you’re living, be free“.

Underneath the surface, the song also touches on the concept of freedom and peace which many adults yearn for as they constantly have to battle the many pressures they are placed under.

Adekunle Gold- Ire

Everyone seeks success and good fortune, and we frequently believe that the other side’s grass is greener. However, if you believe Mr Gold, the grass is greener where you water it, and you can rely on him to grant you goodwill.

Timaya ft BNXN (Buju)- Cold Outside

The phrase ‘Cold Outside‘ roughly translates to a description of how ruthless the streets can be. As an adult, betrayals are one of the realities one must deal with and must be ready to face no matter what direction one comes from.

P-Square ft. Dave Scott – Bring It On

One of the best motivational songs to have been released by a Nigerian act, “Bring On” is literally the English way of saying odeshi to life trials.

Erigga ft Victor AD – Motivation

Nigerian Afrobeat superstar Davido has been the main trending artist of the day as he captains Okocha, MI, Darey, and a slew of others to Novelty Match.

The DMW label owner is known for his love for sports and keeping fit, which might be one of the reasons he was included as a part of the team Nigeria squad that played in the UEFA Champions League Tour.

Davido played alongside the likes of ex-Nigerian internationals Jay-Jay Okocha, Daniel Amokachi and Pastor Taribo, with the likes of MI and Darey also participating.

In a brief interview with The Nation, Darey stated that the Lagos franchise of the world-renowned reality TV program is set to showcase the strength and beauty of the six characters, all of whom are bosses in their respective fields.

The popular music star said the characters of the reality TV show, Carolyna Hutchings, Laura Ikeji-Kanu, Chioma Ikokwu, Toyin Lawani-Adebayo, Iyabo Ojo, and Mariam Timmer, live an opulent lifestyle while keeping their homes and business topnotch in Lagos.

He said:

“You would see the lifestyle these women live in real lives. Their beautiful faces, their downtime and many other things you wouldn’t ordinarily see about them but in all, these are boss women, who hold their homes and businesses together. They are all successful in their own chosen field and it’s pure entertainment for fans and Showmax audience,”

A Few days ago Nigeria lost Sound Sultan, who was one of its legends in the entertainment industry.

Due to the health challenges, he was facing, he had to leave Nigeria for the United States Of America where he couldn’t hold up and lost the battle.

Sound Sultan’s burial took place in the United State Of America and videos of the burial went viral. Many celebrities and loved ones found their way there to pay their last respect and support his family. The Nigerian singer is survived by his wife, three beautiful children and siblings who loved him so dearly.

During the burial of Sound Sultan, touching photos and videos were taken which was all over social media. In one of the photos, his wife Farida was seen laying on the coffin of her late husband, weeping and paying her last respect.

Iyanya

Iyanya‘s grandfather was a clergyman where Iyanya sang in his church’s choir and was the choirmaster for the children’s choir at age 5.

Banky W was born in the US, at age five his family moved back to Nigeria. He discovered his talent for singing and joined the church choir at a tender age.

Wande Coal

Cobhams Asuquo has been into music for more than a decade; be it singing, writing songs, or producing, the man didn’t let his defect stop him.

He started as a music producer as far back as the early 2000s also doubling as a background singer for some of the artists he produced for.

Djinee released the impressive Afro-R’n’B song, ‘Ego‘ way back in 2006. The song which rocked airwaves at the time of its release is a timeless classic.
