It was a triumphant return for Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino, who faced his former club. The match featured numerous dramatic moments, including a hat trick by Chelsea’s Nicolas Jackson and three red cards.

After his “painful mistake” in the recent North London derby, Jorginho expressed gratitude for the support of Arsenal fans.

During the match at Emirates Stadium, Arsenal twice took the lead against their fierce rivals Tottenham, with goals from Bukayo Saka, who initially forced Cristian Romero’s own goal and then scored from the penalty spot. However, the game ended in a dramatic 2-2 draw.

Spurs’ Son Heung-min also scored two goals, with Jorginho providing an assist for his second goal. Just moments after Saka’s 12-yard goal, the Italian international hesitated on the ball in the centre of the field, allowing James Maddison to dispose of him and set up Son for a second equalizer.

Jorginho took to Instagram to acknowledge the fans who were chanting his name instead of berating him, acknowledging that his mistake may have cost Arsenal two crucial points.

“A painful mistake today, but seeing how everyone reacted after my mistake to support and lift me up, my team-mates, coaches, staff and you Arsenal fans. “They welcomed me. They trust me a lot and I try to give back the trust to all of them. I am very happy and very grateful to all of them.”

Romero is “fit to play” in Tuesday’s match against Bolivia, according to manager Lionel Scaloni, despite reports in Argentina that he suffered a minor injury to his right leg during the victory over Ecuador.

Cristian Romero, a defender for Tottenham, has expressed remorse for pulling Marc Cucurella’s hair in retaliation during a 2-2 draw with Chelsea earlier this season.

In an intense London derby that took place in August, Harry Kane scored an equalizer in the 96th minute to earn the visitors a point at Stamford Bridge.

Kane’s late goal was preceded by Romero’s altercation with Cucurella. When getting ready to attack a corner, the Argentina player pulled the Spaniard’s long, flowing locks somewhat roughly, and the VAR reviewed the judgment for violent conduct.

Nevertheless, he was found not guilty, and Tottenham went on to score from the ensuing corner. Later, VAR operator Mike Dean acknowledged that he ought to have directed the referee to the monitor so that he could review the situation.

“That was all a bit exaggerated,” Romero said. “There was a bit of revenge because he’d injured me and I kept playing even though it was getting worse and I reacted badly.

“Of course I shouldn’t have reacted like that and I apologise for what happened. But it’s the first time I’ve been involved in something like that. I hope it doesn’t happen again.”

Romero would subsequently miss Spurs’ next three games through injury.

He has made 17 appearances in all competitions at club level this season either side of playing a starring role in Argentina’s 2022 FIFA World Cup victory in Qatar.

Argentina are reportedly making an interesting request from Premier League clubs to not field their players in the final game before the World Cup.

The tournament will take place for a month and is set to begin on November 20 in Qatar, with the Premier League taking a break midway through the campaign.

According to Doble Amarilla, Argentina will ask for their tournament-bound players not to be involved that weekend, which could cause issues for a number of teams.

The request, which is unlikely to be granted, could have an impact on English clubs like Manchester United, Tottenham, Aston Villa, and Brighton.

Julian Alvarez of Manchester City also looks set to be included in Lionel Scaloni’s squad.

Talks are set to be held with the players involved before a decision is made, though it’s possible any agreement could lead to other countries following suit.

Other European clubs such as PSG, Atletico Madrid and Juventus could be impacted.

Competing teams are expected to start naming their squads for the tournament from late October, with the deadline for submission on November 13.
