Nigerian rapper and songwriter Ice Prince Zamani has opened up about his recent weight loss transformation, revealing that the decision was inspired by his close friends, Chopstix and Dami.

In a heartfelt post shared on social media, the Oleku crooner explained that although he wasn’t battling any illness, he felt the need to change his lifestyle after noticing the effects of unhealthy habits and poor choices.

I was literally about to explode… no sickness (Bless God), just bad habits and choices. But then Chopstix and Dami said, ‘let’s lose the belly, Ice,’ and that really sparked something in my brain that got me activated,”
— he wrote.

Ice Prince went on to share how his friend and longtime collaborator Chopstix joined him in daily evening walks around his estate, turning the exercise sessions into moments of deep reflection and motivation.

“From that meeting, my brother Chopstix started coming to my house every day after dinner and we both walked my estate for an hour… our talks during those walks are priceless to me, as every other thing we’ve both talked about since we were kids!!! Buss a shot fa ma true fren,”

The rapper also shared inspiring before-and-after photos highlighting his physical transformation and expressed gratitude for the progress he’s made.

Looking ahead, Ice Prince revealed plans to celebrate his birthday on October 30 with the release of new music, teasing fans with his renewed energy and confidence.

“It’s my birthday on October 30 and I will be dropping new music in my new body. Next year na full chest lol but pls note, if nature didn’t make it, pls don’t take it… Health is wealth!! See you in 3 days #HealthyLiving,”

Nigerian singer, Burna Boy has created history by being the first African musician to have two solo singles bag platinum certification in the US.

According to an official report by Chart Data via Twitter, Burna Boy set a record as the first African artist to achieve two solo platinum singles (and, for now, the only one) in the US.

This happened after his record-breaking hit “Last Last,” which sold the necessary one million units, earned him his second solo platinum single in the US.

It is the fastest Afrobeats song to be certified Gold and Platinum in the US, surpassing 500,000 units in just 25 weeks and 1,000,000 units in 9 months.

His first platinum solo single was “Ye,” which the RIAA certified as such on January 26, 2023.

According to Music Canada, Last Last was certified Platinum in Canada after exceeding 80,000 units sold in the country in November 2022.

According to the British Phonographic Industry, it received Platinum certification in the UK a month later after selling more than 600,000 units there (BPI).

Last Last was nominated for a Grammy for Best World Music Performance, but Bayethe, a song by the South African group Wouter Kellerman, Zakes Bantwini, and Nomcebo Zikode, eventually won the award.

The official music video for the song, which Burna Boy himself directed, has amassed over 171 million views on YouTube.

The song was created by Chopstix using a sample from Toni Braxton’s 2000 R&B classic He Wasn’t Man Enough.

Nigerian singer, Burna Boy has shared a shocking revelation of his hit song, “Last Last” and how American R’n’B singing legend, Toni Braxton benefits from it.

In the month of May, Burna boy released “Last Last,” ahead of his forthcoming album, Love, Damani.

The track, produced by Chopstix, features a sample of Toni Braxton’s 2000 R&B hit, “He Wasn’t Man Enough.”

Burna Boy who was a guest on Episode 174 of the Million Dollaz Worth Of Game podcast spoke about the song and how the sample happened.

According to him, he had always wanted to sample “He wasn’t Man Enough” and engaged Chopstix to work on it because he knew the producer could make it happen.

He described the experience as a special creative process.

The singer then proceeded to drop the bombshell that Toni Braxton earns 60% off the royalties thanks to the sample.

When he revealed the news, he and the interviewers proceeded to laugh about it.

When one of the interviewers consoled him about it, telling him that he makes more from selling out shows, Burna responded by saying he wasn’t complaining about it.

He stated that he doesn’t mind and hopes that she pays a visit to one of his shows.

When asked about the next genre from Africa he thinks might take over the world, Burna revealed that it would be Amapiano as it’s already taking over the global music scene.

“Pree Me” is a beautiful song off his 2016 “Redemption” EP. This song came at a tumulous time in Burna’s life and the lyrics give an insight into how felt about the issues then.

The bouncy mid-tempo beat produced by Leriq alongside the lyrics is a well-served dish. LeriQ connects with Burna’s inner sombre creative area to create music guided by a specific mood, and this minimalist beat runs throughout the production.

‘Pree Me‘ keeps that riddim going, albeit at a faster speed, and talks about the ups and downs of an artistic career. “I have a lot of enemies, some of whom used to be my friends,” Burna sings.

Deja Vu

“Deja Vu” is one of Burna’s top well-written and put together songs. On “Deja Vu”, Burna woos a potential love interest on the mid-tempo electrifying beat Produced by Chopstix.

Burna published his third album, “Outside,” in 2018, and one of the album’s exquisite gems that don’t get its due flowers is the sensuous “Devil in California.”

In the song, Burna Boy is speaking about a special connection he has with a woman, and how he doesn’t fully comprehend the relationship. On a soothing groove, he says, “I don’t even know where I’m bringing ya.”

“Devil in California,” is a slick track that pushes into late-night overindulgence as Burna delivers dizzy phrases about intoxication and a lingering devil on his shoulder.

Calm Down

“Calm Down” is another underrated gem from Burna’s “Outside” album. Burna Boy addresses concerns from people who advise him to cool down on his social habits that he isn’t taking his feet off the throttle in this groovy track.

The song starts with a harmonized “do, do dodododooooo” and Burna Boy sings over it, sharing his personal experience of sorrow and numbing his anguish by drinking from a Styrofoam cup.

His baby girl laments his absence but Burna Boy fulfils her needs and wants her to get on his level and calm down. On production, Jae5 creates an incredibly complicated beat for the song that I can’t even begin to describe.

Ph City Vibration

If there’s one thing Burna Boy is known for in his music, it’s dropping piece-by-piece insights about himself and his upbringing. On “Ph City Vibrations,” he goes into more detail.

On “Ph City Vibration,” he is most assured. It serves as both a mini-biography (“I was born inna the teaching hospital/The 2nd of July of 1991”) and a love letter to his hometown of Port Harcourt, Nigeria’s River States, with references to roasted plantains and fish, as well as the city’s soccer stadium, Yakubu Gowon Stadium (which he still refers to as Liberation Stadium).

Rockstar (The Leriq version)

Before Burna Boy released the official version in 2015 which was produced by Chopstix, there was the OG produced by Leriq which was leaked.

While the Official version is beautiful, I feel the Leriq-version is amazing and hold its forte even against the Official version.

Rock Your Body

Rock Your Body is a testament to Burna Boy’s flow, melody, songwriting (if you can understand his vernacular), voice, and rhythm mastery all in one. Julz deserves credit for a fantastic soundtrack. Outside has “more life” thanks to the song, which was released in the summer of 2017.

Burna Boy confesses his carnal desire to make love to his partner in the dancehall-highlife single. The song’s melodies are a mid-tempo mix of highlife, dancehall, and Afro-fusion.
