Calm Down remix- Rema ft Selena Gomez

Following their well-publicised encounter at Rema’s Rave and Roses Tour, Selena Gomez and Rema collaborated on a scorching performance of Calm Down.

The Wizards of Waverly Places star contributed to the song in a way that maintains its original flare while adding a distinct twist thanks to her flawless and powerful vocal abilities.

The song did so well commercially, rising to the no. 1 slot on the Billboard Global Chart and also making waves on Billboard Hot 100.

Essence- Wizkid, Tems ft Justin Bieber

As Essence’s prominence and popularity grew in the United States, it became both a summer anthem and a symbol of being black outside of the country. Later, Justin Bieber joined a remix of the song, which helped to magnify its already remarkable successes.

Peru- Fireboy DML ft Ed Sheeran

Ed Sheeran was initially a passive lover of Afrobeat music but his performance on Fireboy’s song Peru made him an active participant.

Ed Sheeran was surprisingly at ease and fluid with his delivery on the Peru record for a beginner to African music. On Spotify, the song has already received over 215 million streams.

Monalisa remix- Lojay ft Chris Brown

Monalisa, a song with danceable Amapiano influences and a catchy, repeated chorus, received a special touch from Chris Brown, a longtime collaborator in the Afrobeats genre.

The record is beautified by Lojay’s excellent delivery of his seductive vocals, and the original material is expertly enhanced by Chris Brown’s unique vocals and harmonies.

The remix was successful for Lojay and helped him spread the sound to additional countries; it has received over 43 million Spotify streams alone.

Ku Lo Sa Remix- Oxlade ft Camilla Cabello

The internet popularity of his COLORS performance of Ku Lo Sa helped Oxlade have a fantastic year in 2022. The musician recruited Camila Cabello, a Cuban American singer and songwriter, for the official remix.

The song has received over 10 million Spotify streams, and Camila Cabello added her own style to it, brilliantly enhancing Oxlade’s already exquisite voice.

Bloody Samaritan remix- Ayra Starr ft Kelly Rowland

Taylor Swift claimed the number one spot with her Album “Lover” which she released in August 2019 with the album reaching three million album-equivalent sales worldwide by the end of its first week of release.

Taylor Swift beat Ed Sheeran, Post Malone, Billi Eilish, Queen, Ariana Grande among others to claim the top spot.  With Ed Sheeran coming second with his “No. 6 Collaborations Project” which featured the likes of Stormzy, Camille Cabello, Cardi B, and Khalid.

IFPI also awarded Taylor Swift the Global Recording Artist of the year making it the second time she has won it, the first being  2014.

IFPI, the organization that represents the recorded music industry worldwide releases what is called  “The ‘top ten’ list yearly which showcases some of the brightest and most talented artists from around the world, from newer stars, such as Billie Eilish and BTS, to legacy acts like The Beatles and Queen.
