The artist, whose real name is Olawale Ashimi, took to his Instagram page to express his opinion, arguing that men should not apologise when they believe a woman is at fault. His stance quickly drew attention, with many users weighing in on the sensitive topic.

According to Brymo, men who choose to apologise under such circumstances are setting themselves up for hardship, a claim that has since divided opinions across online platforms.

He wrote:

“Nobody deserves to suffer than men who apologize to women when the women are wrong. And suffer they will from here, and for the rest of humanity’s earthly existence,”

The comment has since triggered mixed reactions, as some social media users criticised his viewpoint, describing it as problematic, while others engaged in broader conversations about accountability and dynamics in relationships.

Brymo, known for his often unfiltered takes on social and personal issues, continues to generate discussion with his outspoken opinions, further reinforcing his reputation as an artist unafraid to challenge conventional thinking.

The EP is a striking display of Brymo’s artistic depth, blending sensational lyricism with captivating vocal delivery. His voice moves effortlessly across each track, carrying layers of emotion, symbolism, and intent.

Backed by rich, immersive production, SHAITAN: Telekinesis is the kind of project that commands full attention—one that listeners are unlikely to skip once play is pressed.

Brymo has never been an artist who plays it safe. Since the start of his solo career, he has consistently positioned himself as a thinker, a rebel, and a cultural preservationist, using music as a tool for expression, resistance, and reflection.

With SHAITAN: Telekinesis, he once again embraces that identity, pushing creative boundaries and challenging conventional narratives within Afrobeats.

Leading up to the release, Brymo teased fans with several songs that heightened anticipation for the project, further solidifying his status as one of the most talked-about and streamed artists in the country.

The EP opens with its title track, “Mother And God.” A flawless performance adds a compelling dynamic to the record, making it one of the standout moments on the EP.

Tracklist – SHAITAN: Àródan EP

The project serves as a statement—one that confronts society, spirituality, and human nature through indigenous language, symbolism, and storytelling. Each track feels deliberate, layered, and rooted in deep cultural consciousness.

In an industry largely dominated by catchy hooks and dance-centric sounds, SHAITAN: Telekinesis stands apart as an intellectually charged body of work. It challenges norms, provokes thought, and reconnects listeners to the power of storytelling and identity, reaffirming Brymo’s place as one of Nigeria’s most fearless and original musical voices.

Prolific Nigerian singer and songwriter Brymo has stirred controversy after openly criticizing some of the country’s biggest music stars, including Burna Boy and Davido, for what he describes as an overindulgence in remix collaborations with rising artists.

The outspoken artist aired his frustration on Tuesday, August 19, 2025, through a post shared on his Instagram status, a message that quickly went viral across social platforms.

In his blunt address to what he termed “Nigerian mainstream A-listers,” Brymo wrote: “Burna, Davido, and Co., stop jumping on every hit song in a remix, especially releases by newer acts… let other artistes find their own way.”

He went further to question the motive behind such collaborations, claiming they often benefit the established stars more than the emerging ones. “The pretending to be helping them reach higher is a ridiculous watch… stop seeking relevance in the efforts of ones who know little about the business… it’s vile!!” he added.

Brymo’s remarks highlight his concern that remix culture, while seemingly supportive, may stifle the independent growth of new artists. According to him, rather than serving as genuine mentorship, these collaborations could be a strategy for big names to maintain visibility.

The post has ignited discussions among fans and industry watchers about the ethics of remixes in Afrobeats, raising questions about whether such practices uplift or overshadow budding talent. So far, neither Burna Boy nor Davido nor their teams have issued a response.

Brymo, widely recognised for his distinct sound and often unfiltered opinions, has long been an advocate for artistic freedom and fairness in the Nigerian music industry. His latest outburst adds another chapter to his reputation as one of the few voices challenging mainstream industry norms.

Nigerian sonic artist Ọlawale Ọlọfọrọ, popularly known as Brymo, has teased a new single slated for release this week.

The singer-songwriter is set to drop a new track following the release of his previous album, “Macabre,” which faced commercial challenges.

Brymo, a highly controversial artist, had a tumultuous 2023, marred by several controversies that led to a disappointing headline concert and the underperformance of his album “Macabre.” Despite these setbacks, he is now gearing up to captivate his audience with fresh music.

After a hiatus from the social media platform X since 2023, Brymo made a return via Instagram on August 21, 2024, announcing the upcoming release of his new single titled “That 1.”

Accompanied by a snippet of the song, the post revealed that the single is set to drop on Saturday, August 24, 2024.

In the post, Brymo wrote, “That 1… streaming across the globe from 24-8-2024!!…” signaling his intent to make a strong comeback with this new release.

Following the recent change in the national anthem, singer Brymo has proclaimed President Tinubu as his Greatest Of All Time (G.O.A.T) among all previous presidents. Brymo expressed his joy about the change.

The controversial singer shared this declaration in an Instagram Story post on May 30, 2024. He posted the lyrics of the new national anthem, highlighting the first stanza and drawing comparisons between Africa and Nigeria to “polygamy” and a “family unit.”

He said, “President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is officially my G.O.A.T of all the Nigerian presidents! Read the lyrics of the new national anthem. The first stanza is all you need; it asserts Nigeria for the motherland and now Africa can be the fatherland and be a symbol of polygamy and we can all focus on one family unit. My favourite part is ‘In brotherhood, we stand.’ We are all now members of the greatest cult on earth. Nigeria is now the only brotherhood that every boy and ambitious girl must belong to in this country. I am very happy.”

Recall that the Senate and the House of Representatives recently approved legislation to change the national anthem from “Arise, O Compatriots” to “Nigeria, We Hail Thee.” On May 29, 2024, President Tinubu signed the bill into law, officially enacting the change.

Senate President Godswill Akpabio announced this on Wednesday, May 29, during a joint session of the National Assembly, which also marked the 25th anniversary of Nigeria’s 4th Republic.

The change elicited a range of reactions from Nigerians on social media platforms, including confusion, anger, and frustration, while others, like Brymo, expressed happiness. Nigerian celebrities also voiced their opinions on the swift reversion to the previous national anthem.

It is noteworthy that “Nigeria, We Hail Thee” was written by Lillian Jean Williams, a British expatriate who lived in Nigeria during its independence era, with music composed by Frances Berda. In contrast, “Arise, O Compatriots” was written by Pa Benedict Odiase, a Nigerian composer, and adopted in 1978.

In an audio message shared on his social media page, Brymo recounted his experiences with the legislator, including intimate encounters despite her marital status. He revealed that she once invited him to her sister’s wedding in Niger, asking him to perform for her husband after their private encounters, although he was hesitant.

Brymo mentioned that upon arriving at the event, he encountered another senior artist, though he did not disclose the individual’s identity. Reflecting on his past, Brymo expressed a belief that he might have been unknowingly offered as a sacrifice in the music industry.

He also noted that the female lawmaker compensated him generously, paying him double after being impressed by their time together. She then requested that he accompany her to her compound, where her partner would be present.

In the audio, which surfaced online on Saturday, April 20, 2024, Brymo alleged that the trio had previously targeted him and issued a warning that they would eventually regret their actions.

Singling out Davido, Brymo claimed that the acclaimed singer was responsible for the demise of all his male offspring. Brymo contrasted this with his own parenting, asserting that he is actively involved in raising his son unlike Davido.

The saga began when Brymo stirred controversy last year by suggesting a sexual encounter with Simi for a music collaboration. Simi stated she declined his proposition, leading to Brymo’s refusal to collaborate.

Similarly, Samklef admitted his affection for Simi during their struggling artist days but avoided advances to separate business from pleasure.

In a recent interview on Angela Yee’s show Way Up on Tuesday, May 7, 2024, Simi expressed bewilderment over Brymo and Samklef’s comments. Dismissing their remarks, she questioned their relevance and why they continued discussing her in such a manner.

Simi clarified that her husband addresses any concerns on her behalf, emphasizing that Brymo and Samklef’s opinions don’t affect her. She viewed the situation as more comedic than serious, showcasing her indifference.

With her candid response, Simi has put to rest any speculation surrounding Brymo and Samklef’s remarks, focusing on her music career and personal life without allowing external distractions to sway her.

Renowned Nigerian artist Brymo, has stirred controversy with a recent audio upload where he levied severe accusations against fellow artists Davido, 2Baba, and Burna Boy, branding them as murderers.

Moving on to 2Baba, Brymo criticized the legendary artist for purportedly leaving all his male children with their mothers and cautioned him to keep his distance. Regarding Burna Boy, Brymo suggested that the self-proclaimed “Giant of Africa” may not even have children in his life.

Brymo concluded by asserting that these artists epitomize the absence of father figures in their lives. This latest outburst follows previous remarks where Brymo criticized Davido and Burna Boy for their claims in the Afrobeat genre.

The audio has since gone viral, sparking intense debate and speculation within the Nigerian music industry.

Nigerian sonic artist Brymo has reignited his feud with Burna Boy, taking to his Instagram story to throw shade at the Grammy-winning artist. The tension between Brymo and Burna Boy began when Brymo accused Burna Boy of plagiarizing his unreleased work in the hit single “City Boy.”

In a recent post on April 16, 2024, Brymo claimed superiority in talent and advised Burna Boy to exit the pop scene, citing Burna Boy’s appearance and alleged lack of vocal prowess. Brymo even went as far as asserting his status as a deity, suggesting that Burna Boy’s attention-seeking behavior towards him stems from this.

Brymo concluded the post by extending an offer to help Burna Boy if approached respectfully.

In response, Burna Boy took to his Instagram story to critique Brymo’s folk music, suggesting that Brymo’s attempts to incorporate Yoruba proverbs into his music fall short compared to the work of Fuji legends King Wasiu Ayinde and King Saheed Osupa.

Despite Brymo’s claim that he won’t mention Burna Boy in his music, he appears willing to engage in social media banter, consistently shading and tagging the Afro-fusion superstar in his posts.

In a fiery retort to recent remarks by fellow Nigerian vocalist Brymo, Grammy-winning artist Burna Boy has sparked a heated exchange, illuminating a burgeoning rivalry within the nation’s music scene.

Taking to his Instagram story on Monday, April 8, 2024, Burna Boy directly confronted Brymo’s comments, asserting his prominent position within the industry.

Confidently, he proclaimed that his influence had reached such heights that competitors were resorting to any means to provoke him. With no hesitation, the Grammy awardee criticized Brymo’s musical approach as “Yoruba proverb music,” leaving no room for ambiguity.

In his words, “At this point, they do and say Anything to get at the KING. werey dey sing Yoruba proverb music for us. When K1 and Saheed Osupa dem still dey carry us trabaye.”

The clash between Burna Boy and Brymo originated from Brymo’s remarks in an interview with skit maker and YouTuber, Isbae U. During the interview, Brymo suggested that Burna Boy had subtly targeted him in one of his songs. Brymo’s refusal to acknowledge Burna Boy in his own music, along with his assertion of personal value, prompted Burna Boy’s immediate response.

The exchange between these two influential figures has captivated fans and industry insiders alike, igniting passionate debates and taking precedence in the Nigerian music scene.

As the feud unfolds across social media platforms and beyond, onlookers eagerly await the next development in this ongoing saga. It promises to redefine the narrative of Nigerian music in significant ways.

Nigerian artist Ọlawale Ọlọfọrọ, famously known as Brymo, has stirred controversy by claiming that his colleague, Burna Boy, does not meet his musical standards.

Brymo made this assertion during an appearance on Curiosity Made Me Ask, hosted by skit maker Bae U Barbie. He responded to Burna Boy’s diss freestyle, where Burna Boy suggested that Brymo had “fallen off.”

This statement adds fuel to the ongoing debate about artistic merit and musical prowess within the Nigerian music industry. Brymo’s candid remarks highlight the diversity of opinions and rivalries that exist among artists, contributing to the vibrant and dynamic landscape of Nigerian music.

“Is it [the diss freestyle] not Burna Boy lyrics? But he would like to know that nothing in this world would put his name in my song. He no reach my standard,” the singer said.

Brymo also said that he is the “finest vocalist” in Africa.

“I’m not proud enough. I’m probably the finest vocalist on the continent. Better than anybody. I’m not thinking. I know this,” he said.

“And yeah, even Twitter guys can’t disagree with him despite the hate. You can win an Award, but that doesn’t mean you’re the best man for that award.”

Recall, In a QnA session on Curiosity Made Me Ask with social media personality, Adebayo Ridwan Abidemi @isbae_u, shared on Instagram, Brymo was asked if he would rather sign with Davido, Wizkid or Burna Boy, to which he responded ‘Don’t worry I will just go to hell. They need recording deals.”

Brymo also said unlike Burna Boy who included his name in his lyrics where he said “Hustle make you no fall off like Brymo“, he would not be reciprocating the favour
