Due to his incredible save during Arsenal’s thrilling 2-2 draw with Liverpool at Anfield, Aaron Ramsdale has been awarded the Castrol Save of the Month title for a second consecutive month.

In April, the Arsenal starting goalie was at the top of his game to deny Mohamed Salah a signature goal that would have given his team a crucial point against Liverpool.

In the closing seconds of a hotly contested encounter on April 9, Ramsdale stretched to jump across his goal line and touch a deflected curling attempt from the Liverpool star barely around the post.

Ramsdale has become the first goalie to win the Castrol Save of the Month award twice. The English goalkeeper also won the award in March after a spectacular save to deny Dango Ouattara what appeared to be a definite goal in Arsenal’s 3-2 triumph against Bournemouth at the Emirates Stadium.

Ramsdale is now just the second player to have won the Castrol Save of the Month twice in a single season, joining Nick Pope, who did it in August and January.

The 2022–23 season has seen an overall English goalkeeper dominance, with Ramsdale, Pope, and Jordan Pickford taking home the trophy in five of the first eight months of the campaign.

David de Gea, Lukasz Fabianski, Daniel Iversen, Kepa Arrizabalaga, and Bernd Leno were all up for the April award.

Arsenal goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale has revealed his desire to become a Gunners legend and potentially spend the rest of his career in north London.

After a transfer from Sheffield United to Arsenal in 2021 for up to £30 million, Ramsdale endured a rocky start to his Arsenal career despite initially failing to unseat Bernd Leno as the starting goalkeeper.

He didn’t have to wait long for his opportunity, though, as this season he has taken over the team’s number one shirt. His 12 Premier League clean sheets have helped him share the goalkeeper lead and placed him in the running for the Golden Glove as the Gunners also mount a title challenge.

The 24-year-old entered the Emirates Stadium with a long-term contract and intends to stay for many more years, maybe even until he is close to 40.

“It was a difficult period moving club to club, even before that going on loan, I never imagined leaving Bournemouth after a year, I never imagined leaving Sheffield United after a year,” he told BBC Sport.

“But [Arsenal] is a place now where I can see myself for 10, 12, 15 years. That’s the aim, that’s the goal…the aim to stay at the top for that amount of time. Hopefully, I’ll never have to leave and I’ll become a real hero and legend at this football club.”

Ramsdale was one of five Arsenal players awarded on Monday night at the London Football Awards. He won Goalkeeper of the Year, Martin Odegaard, the team’s captain, was named Premier League Player of the Year, and Bukayo Saka beat out William Saliba and Gabriel Martinelli to win Young Player of the Year. Mikel Arteta also scooped the Manager of the Year prize.

Manchester United player Marcus Rashford was named the EA SPORTS Player of the Month for the month of February 2023. This is the third time this season that Rashford has earned the award.

After scoring five goals in four games to help Manchester United go undefeated for the month, Rashford wins the award.

He scored in every game he played in February, sparking victories over Leeds United, Leicester City, and Crystal Palace as well as a comeback draw with Leeds after falling down by two goals.

In winning the award Rashford equals the Premier League record for most EA SPORTS Player of the Month prizes in a single season. He is level with Mohamed Salah, who won three in 2017/18.

After Ilkay Gundogan did it in January and February of 2021, Rashford is the first player to get the award in back-to-back months.

Overall, Rashford has taken home the award four times in his career, falling three shies of the record shared by Sergio Aguero and Harry Kane.

The 25-year-old topped a six-man shortlist that included Kelechi Iheanacho, Bernd Leno, Emerson Royal, Manor Solomon and Ollie Watkins.

He won after the public’s votes on the EA SPORTS website were combined with those of a panel of football experts.

The Premier League has released the full official list of nominees for the February 2023 player of the month award.

Following a competitive month of Febuary 2023, the premier league’s organizers have revealed a full list of nominees for the player of the month award.

The league chose these football players after considering their outstanding performances to their respective club teams across all of the game weeks in February 2023. The January EA SPORTS Player of the Month shortlist consists of six players.

This list was posted earlier today, March 2, 2023, on the Premier League website.

Six players have been shortlisted for the EA SPORTS Player of the Month award after putting in outstanding performances during the month of January.

The votes of the general public will be merged with those of a panel of football experts to choose the winner, who will be announced next week.

Shortlist of EA SPORTS players:

The Nigerian’s five-goal involvements came in a devastating two-match spell. He scored a goal and provided two assists as Leicester City defeated Tottenham Hotspur 4-1. He then contributed a goal and an assist in Leicester City’s 4-2 triumph against Aston Villa.

With victories over Manchester City, West Ham United, and Chelsea, Tottenham’s right wing-back dominated the right side. February was an outstanding month for him. He is keeping January signing Pedro Porro out of the team.

In February, the Israeli had a significant effect, scoring in three straight substitute appearances. Fulham was awarded four points alone for his goals. Given that he only played for 86 minutes over the month, this is an impressive effort.

• P4 W1 D0 L3 G4 A0 Ollie Watkins (AVL)

Watkins scored in each of his four Aston Villa games, including the decisive goal in the team’s 2-0 victory against Everton.
