The 2026 edition of the American Music Awards (AMAs) wrapped up in grand style with a glamorous night that celebrated some of the biggest stars shaping global music today.

From pop and hip-hop to Afrobeats, Latin music, K-pop, country, and R&B, several chart-topping artists walked away with major honours during the star-studded ceremony.

Full list of winners at the 2026 AMAs (American Music Awards)

One of the biggest highlights of the night was the dominance of BTS, who emerged as one of the ceremony’s biggest winners after clinching the prestigious Artist of the Year award.

Other notable winners included Sabrina Carpenter, KATSEYE, Cardi B, Tyla, Bad Bunny, Shakira, and Kendrick Lamar, all of whom secured major wins across different categories.

The awards ceremony once again reflected the growing global influence of non-Western music genres, with Afrobeats, Latin music, and K-pop continuing to dominate conversations on the international stage.

Fans across social media also praised the diversity of this year’s winners, describing the ceremony as one of the most globally representative AMAs in recent years.

Puerto Rican rapper, singer, and producer Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio, popularly known as Bad Bunny, has made a surprising move in the aftermath of his Super Bowl performance.

Bad Bunny makes surprising move after Super Bowl performance

Just hours after delivering a widely talked-about set at the Apple Music Super Bowl LX Halftime Show, the 31-year-old star wiped his entire Instagram page. The artist, often referred to as the King of Latin Trap, unfollowed every account, deleted all previous posts, and removed his profile photo.

At the moment, his page is completely blank except for a single link in his bio pointing to his 2025 album, Debí Tirar Más Fotos.

The unexpected digital cleanse comes amid mixed reactions to his halftime show. While many praised Bad Bunny for proudly honouring his Puerto Rican roots on one of the world’s biggest stages, others criticised the performance, with reports of backlash and threats circulating online after Sunday’s event.

Bad Bunny has not publicly addressed the reason behind clearing his Instagram, leaving fans and observers to speculate. As is often the case with major artists, many believe the move could be a signal that a new project or era is on the way.

For now, the silence only adds to the mystery and keeps fans watching closely for what Bad Bunny might be planning next.

While the Seattle Seahawks and New England Patriots went head-to-head for the Lombardi Trophy on the field at Levi’s Stadium, a quieter but equally intense showdown played out in the luxury suites, sidelines, and VIP sections.

Super Bowl LX, held on Sunday, February 8, 2026, turned Silicon Valley into what felt like the world’s most exclusive red carpet.

From surprise musical moments to A-list power couples, the night delivered star power at every turn.

Who did Bad Bunny perform with at the 2026 Super Bowl?

Fresh off a historic showing at the Grammys, Bad Bunny headlined a high-energy halftime set that proudly celebrated Puerto Rican culture. And he didn’t do it alone.

Lady Gaga stunned fans by joining the “Tití Me Preguntó” hitmaker for a high-octane duet that instantly had the stadium on its feet.

Ricky Martin brought pure nostalgia and emotion, bridging generations as he performed “Lo Que Le Pasó a Hawaii” alongside Bad Bunny.

The surprise crew took the show to another level. Appearances from Cardi B, Karol G, Young Miko, and Jessica Alba turned the 13-minute performance into a mini festival. Actor Pedro Pascal’s unexpected cameo sent social media into meltdown mode.

Offstage, the guest list looked like an awards show nominee sheet. Jay-Z continued his Super Bowl tradition, spotted on the sidelines with his daughters, Blue Ivy and Rumi Carter, who were seen posing for photos in the end zone.

Stars spotted in the stands and luxury suites

The VIP sections were stacked with A-listers:

Adam Sandler was seen enjoying the game from a private suite.

Justin and Hailey Bieber, a familiar Super Bowl duo, were spotted together in the stands.

Travis Scott and Brad Pitt were caught chatting pre-game near the field.

Kim Kardashian and Lewis Hamilton soaked in the atmosphere from the VIP area.

Daniel Radcliffe and Rob Lowe added a blend of Hollywood and British charm to the night.

Other celebrity sightings included Cardi B (who also appeared on stage with Bad Bunny), Pedro Pascal, 21 Savage, and Leonardo DiCaprio.

Pre-game moments packed with star power

The celebrity energy started long before kickoff. Chris Pratt represented the Seahawks, while Jon Bon Jovi stood in for the Patriots, delivering spirited team introductions that set the tone for the night.

Musical duties were handled by a lineup of heavy hitters:

Charlie Puth delivered a soulful rendition of “The Star-Spangled Banner.”

Brandi Carlile performed a stripped-back, emotional version of “America the Beautiful.”

Coco Jones impressed with “Lift Every Voice and Sing,” wearing an outfit inspired by Whitney Houston.

Green Day rocked the opening ceremony, celebrating the Super Bowl’s 60th anniversary on home turf in the Bay Area.

Honouring football royalty

As the league marked six decades of Super Bowl history, legendary San Francisco 49ers icons Joe Montana, Steve Young, and Jerry Rice took to the field, reminding fans of the Bay Area’s rich football legacy.

They were joined by other NFL greats, including Tom Brady, Peyton Manning, and Eli Manning, who were present to honour the game’s enduring impact.

From the field to the stands, Super Bowl LX was a perfect blend of sports, music, culture, and celebrity a night that delivered spectacle at every angle.

Bad Bunny didn’t just perform at Super Bowl LX; he rewrote the script.

As expected, the Puerto Rican superstar went all in, using the 2026 Super Bowl halftime show to make history with the first-ever solo Spanish-language performance on the NFL’s biggest stage.

Bad Bunny Makes History: A Solo Latin Takeover at the Super Bowl

What followed was a bold mix of global hits, Latin pride, surprise appearances, and a clear message centred on love, identity, and inclusion.

There was no gentle warm-up. Bad Bunny burst onto the stage and immediately launched into “Tití Me Preguntó,” throwing the stadium straight into party mode. From there, it was a relentless run of fan favorites, including “Yo Perreo Sola,” “Eoo,” “Monaco,” “Baile Inolvidable,” and “Nuevayol.” The message was clear: this was a Spanish-first performance made for a global audience that already knew every word.

The pacing told its own story. No long speeches. No awkward pauses. Just hit after hit, delivered with confidence and precision.

Even before the first official guest stepped out, the show was already stacked with star power. As the performance began, familiar faces like Jessica Alba, Karol G, Young Miko, Cardi B, and Pedro Pascal appeared, subtly reinforcing the night’s theme, a full-blown celebration of Latin culture across music, film, and pop culture.

The first major surprise came early. Lady Gaga joined Bad Bunny on stage, an unexpected pairing that instantly sent the crowd into a frenzy.

Their moment together leaned heavily into spectacle and theatrical flair, fitting seamlessly into the flow of the performance and earning one of the loudest reactions of the night.

If Gaga brought the shock factor, Ricky Martin delivered the emotional punch.

Bad Bunny welcomed the Puerto Rican legend to the stage for a performance of one of the most defining songs from Debí Tirar Más Fotos. The moment carried weight beyond the music.

Both artists share a history of activism, having previously stood side by side during protests against former Puerto Rican governor Ricardo Rosselló. Seeing them together again, this time on the Super Bowl stage, felt both powerful and symbolic.

Two generations of Puerto Rican stars. One stage. Singing in Spanish. With the world watching.

Midway through the set, the tone shifted. The stage was filled with flags from across Latin America and the wider Americas as Bad Bunny moved from pure entertainment to symbolism.

His message was simple but unmistakable: hate is best answered with love and inclusion. In a year already thick with political tension, the statement felt deliberate and impossible to ignore.

By the time the final note rang out, Bad Bunny had delivered one of the most packed halftime performances in Super Bowl history, blending old favourites with newer material.

His full halftime set included:

Tití Me Preguntó

Yo Perreo Sola

Mía

Monaco

Safaera

The Move

Nuevayol

Baile Inolvidable

DTMF

History was made, culture was amplified, and a message was sent loud and clear. Bad Bunny didn’t just headline Super Bowl LX. He owned it.

The milestone came during a night where several artists aimed at the Trump administration’s immigration policies, blending music and advocacy on a global stage.

Bad Bunny also claimed the Best Global Music Performance award for his track EoO, prevailing over a diverse group of nominees including Ciro Hurtado, Angélique Kidjo, Yeisy Rojas, Shakti, and Anoushka Shankar. The accolade highlighted the song’s international appeal and Bad Bunny’s ever-evolving musical style.

The 31-year-old musician’s sixth studio album, Debí Tirar Mas Fotos, earned the night’s top honour, besting heavyweight competitors Lady Gaga and Kendrick Lamar.

The album, a deeply personal reflection on Puerto Rico’s musical heritage, showcased Bad Bunny’s ability to merge storytelling with cultural commentary.

In his acceptance speech, Bad Bunny dedicated the award to immigrants, paying tribute to those who “leave their home, land, their country, to follow their dreams.” His message resonated with the night’s broader themes of resilience and global solidarity.

As the global music industry closed out 2025 on December 31, Forbes released its highly anticipated year-end ranking of the highest-paid musicians in the world, revealing a combined pre-tax income of nearly $1.9 billion USD among the top earners.

The staggering figure underscored a year of robust growth for the industry, powered largely by blockbuster concert tours, sustained streaming dominance, and increasingly sophisticated catalogue investments.

Live performances emerged as the biggest revenue driver, with artists capitalising on expansive stadium tours, high-demand residencies, and innovative touring models, while streaming and record sales continued to provide steady income for musicians with evergreen catalogues.

The list also reflected growing diversity across the industry, featuring eight female artists among the highest earners and spanning genres from pop, hip-hop, and R&B to country, Latin, and rock. Strategic business moves—particularly partial catalogue sales that preserved creative control—played a major role in boosting artist wealth, highlighting a shift toward sharper, more business-savvy career management.

The Weeknd Tops the List as World’s Highest-Paid Musician

At the summit of the 2025 rankings sits The Weeknd, who emerged as the highest-paid musician in the world, earning $298 million USD pre-tax. His earnings were anchored by the monumental After Hours Til Dawn Tour, which surpassed $1 billion USD in gross revenue, alongside strong global sales and streaming performance from his hit record Hurry Up Tomorrow.

The Canadian superstar also saw a major boost to his net worth following a landmark $200 million USD catalogue deal with Lyric Capital, a move that allowed him to retain creative control while unlocking immense financial value.

Taylor Swift and Beyoncé Claim the Top Three

Pop powerhouse Taylor Swift followed closely in second place with $202 million USD, driven by chart-topping album sales from The Life of a Showgirl, a lucrative Disney+ documentary deal, and continued strength from her streaming catalogue.

In third place, Beyoncé earned $148 million USD, largely fueled by her record-breaking Cowboy Carter Tour, which grossed $407.6 million USD across a unique 32-show mini-residency format. The tour became the highest-grossing country tour in Billboard Boxscore history and the fastest to surpass $400 million USD.

The middle of the top 10 proved fiercely competitive. Kendrick Lamar ranked fourth with $109 million USD, boosted by his headline appearance at the Super Bowl LIX Halftime Show, watched by 133.5 million viewers, and the success of his 2025 album GNX. His joint Grand National Tour with SZA also contributed significantly, grossing $358.7 million USD.

Coldplay and Shakira tied in fifth and sixth place with $105 million USD each, powered respectively by extended legs of the Music of the Spheres World Tour and Shakira’s massively successful Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran World Tour.

Drake finished seventh with $78 million USD, largely from relentless streaming success. The Canadian rapper closed 2025 as Spotify’s most-streamed rapper, pulling in 17.6 billion streams, narrowly surpassing his own 2023 record.

Rounding out the list were Chris Brown at eighth with $74 million USD, driven by the Breezy Bowl XX Stadium World Tour; Zach Bryan in ninth with $70 million USD, blending touring with catalogue deals; and global Latin icon Bad Bunny, who placed tenth with $66 million USD, fueled by massive streaming numbers and a successful residency in Puerto Rico.

The announcement was made on Sunday, September 28, 2025, by the NFL in collaboration with Apple Music and Roc Nation. The performance will air live on NBC and stream on Peacock.

The reveal came during halftime of the Green Bay Packers vs. Dallas Cowboys clash, ending weeks of speculation. Shortly after, the Puerto Rican star, whose real name is Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio, shared the news across his social media platforms, sending fans worldwide into celebration.

Bad Bunny described the opportunity as a cultural milestone: “This isn’t just about me, it’s about the people and culture I represent. This moment is for Puerto Rico and for Latin music everywhere.”

The 29-year-old superstar has enjoyed a record-breaking year, with his seventh studio album dominating global charts, massive streaming milestones, and a homecoming residency in Puerto Rico that attracted over half a million fans.

NFL’s senior vice president of global event production, Jon Barker, hailed the choice, noting: “Bad Bunny is a perfect fit for the halftime stage, someone who brings unmatched energy and connects with audiences across genres and languages.”

His Travis Scott-assisted hit TaTaTa earned him a nod for Best Afrobeats, while his powerful solo track Higher is nominated in the Video for Good category. Burna Boy also scores a mention for Best Visual Effects through his appearance in The Weeknd’s cinematic video for Hurry Up Tomorrow.

Wizkid also makes his mark with a nomination for Best Afrobeats for Piece Of My Heart, his collaboration with American singer Brent Faiyaz, a track that has drawn critical acclaim for its smooth blend of R&B and Afrobeats.

Afrobeats queen Tems and street-hop star Asake share a nomination in the same category for their joint effort Get It Right, while Asake earns an additional nod for Best Afrobeats with Active, another collaboration with Travis Scott.

Meanwhile, Rema rounds out the Nigerian nominees in the Best Afrobeats category with his soulful single Baby (Is It A Crime) further showcasing the depth and diversity within the genre.

The 2025 edition of the VMAs, which will air live on September 7, 2025, introduces a dedicated Best Afrobeats category a clear reflection of the genre’s meteoric rise and the growing impact of Nigerian artists on global music culture.

With five Nigerian stars securing prominent nominations, this year’s ceremony is poised to be a celebration of Afrobeats excellence. As anticipation builds, all eyes are now on the VMAs stage to see how these trailblazing artists fare.

Latin music’s global trailblazer, Bad Bunny, has etched his name into the history books once again, this time becoming the first artist ever to surpass 20 billion streams on Spotify with a single album.

The record-breaking project, Un Verano Sin Ti, released in May 2022, has officially become the most-streamed album in Spotify’s history, setting a new gold standard in the era of digital music.

Blending reggaeton, Latin trap, and Caribbean rhythms, Un Verano Sin Ti captivated audiences around the world with its vibrant, genre-bending sound.

The project produced multiple global hits such as “Tití Me Preguntó,” “Me Porto Bonito,” “Moscow Mule,” and “Ojitos Lindos,” each contributing significantly to the album’s astronomical streaming numbers.

The album didn’t just dominate charts; it redefined them. It was crowned Spotify’s most-streamed album of 2022, an accolade it secured effortlessly thanks to Bad Bunny’s ever-expanding international fan base and his dynamic presence across tours, festivals, playlists, and social media.
