Chelsea is set to bring back Andrey Santos from his season-long loan at Nottingham Forest in January. The West London club has the option to terminate Santos‘ loan early by activating a break clause in the agreement with Forest. Forest, in turn, incurs mutually agreed-upon financial penalties for not fielding Santos when he is fit.

Strasbourg, which shares ownership ties with Chelsea, has expressed interest in acquiring Santos for the second half of the season.

However, for Chelsea to send the 19-year-old abroad, they would need to terminate one of their current seven international loans.

While Forest has not received official notification from Chelsea about the intention to recall Santos, they are aware that his playing opportunities have been limited since his arrival in August. Santos has made just one substitute appearance in the Premier League for Forest, along with a 90-minute outing in their Carabao Cup second-round defeat against Burnley on August 29.

Forest’s head coach, Steve Cooper, has engaged in discussions with Chelsea regarding Santos’ playing time. Cooper has expressed optimism that the Brazilian midfielder will have opportunities during the season. Despite this, Santos has frequently been omitted from Forest’s matchday squads and has not featured on the bench since November 5.

Chelsea Football Club have officially announced that they have completed a deal to sign Enzo Fernandez from Benfica for a British record transfer fee.

Enzo Fernández joined Chelsea for a Premier League record fee and with Premier League record expectations.

He has now completed the standard first procedures for recruits, such as posing with the shirt to indicate that he would wear the No. 5 and use his first name, Enzo, rather than his last name, Fernández.

Unless you come from a league where you have something other than your last name on your shirt, you must use your last name in the Premier League. Enzo went by “Enzo” for Benfica (No. 13) and by “E.Fernández” for Argentina (No.24).

The No.5 shirt was only vacant for a day, with Jorginho relinquishing it after leaving for Arsenal on transfer deadline day (where he will wear the No.20).

Prior to Jorgi, Michael Essien and Frank Leboeuf were frequently linked to the No. 5. It was also worn briefly by Kurt Zouma, Alexei Smertin, and Erland Johnsen.

The talented midfielder made an excellent 2022, which included a number of standout displays for Benfica during his first season in Europe. He shone for Argentina in Qatar at the end of last year as they won the world title, and he was voted the competition’s best young player by FIFA.

Chelsea had already brought in Benoit Badiashile, David Datro Fofana, Mykhailo Mudryk, Joao Felix, Noni Madueke, Andrey Santos and Malo Gusto, the latter of who will return to Lyon on loan for the remainder of the season.

Upon signing, Fernandez said:

According to reports, Chelsea are set to hand a contract extension to 38-year-old centre-back Thiago Silva.

With 105 appearances for the Blues since his 2020 transfer from French club Paris Saint-Germain, Silva, who turns 39 in September, is thought to be eager to continue playing until he reaches 40.

Vasco da Gama has confirmed and revealed that Andrey Santos has completed a move to Chelsea for an initial fee of £13 million ($15 million).

Chelsea and Benfica are negotiating the terms of a club record £112 million deal to bring in Argentine midfielder Enzo Fernandez.

The 21-year-old has largely reached a personal agreement with Chelsea and even skipped training with Benfica to try to force a transfer to Stamford Bridge.

As part of their effort to adhere to UEFA financial fair play regulations, Chelsea wants to pay the transfer fee for Fernandez in three £37.5 million instalments.
