iFani requests a collaboration with Amanda Black, after being ignored by the singer for the previous three years, the rapper claims he is still open to working with her.

Three years ago, he claimed to have sent her a song, but she hasn’t responded and iFani asked his followers on Twitter to assist him in pleading with Amanda Black for a feature.

“Dear iFani fans, I NEED YOUR HELP. Please ask Amanda Black to please give me a feature; I sent her the song 3 years ago, and I still want that song with her. Ndiyanicela Khanindicelele Kdala ndicela Ndisacela,” he tweeted.

As some of his supporters pleaded with Amanda to support their favourite, others made fun of him.

Nomfundo Moh, a 21-year-old South African singer who recently joined Spotify’s Equal Africa programme, honours her mother on social media.

The artist honoured her mother’s birthday and shared details of their celebration with her family members on social media.

Nomfundo Moh captioned the post with “Kwakhon’ ukvuka kwami namhlanje, hhay ngoba ngingcono.. Cel’ ukhumbul’ umndeni wami, cel’ ukhumbul’ abazali bami” (Manyathi, 2022). Happiest birthday to my lovely mom. Grateful for a second place called home, phecelezi emaFuzeni 2.0 Izibusiso mazande,”

It’s been heard that grace followed the release of Amagama, Nomfundo’s debut Afropop album, in January of this year. She is the second South African artist selected to take part in the platform’s flagship initiative that elevates the voices of gifted African women, joining DBN Gogo.

Nomfundo Moh revealed “Being part of Spotify’s Equal programme actually shows me that my talent, as a woman, is recognised and that there are people who are willing to help me. People who see my vision and ambition and people who want to put me on greater heights,” she also added that women should grab opportunities and use their superpowers.

Spotify’s head of music for sub-Saharan Africa, Phiona Okumu as well stated that the music streaming platform is committed to “finding and amplifying the voices of female African creators on the African continent has led us to find exceptional voices like Nomfundo, and the amazing talents before her, such as Ayra Starr, Amaarae and DBN Gogo. It is our hope that other young women creators see this as proof that their talents can and will be recognised and supported.”

Nomfundo’s career journey began when she joined her church choir and subsequently started covers of her favourite songs, which launched her career. Award-winning producer Naxion-cross created her debut track, “Lilizela,” which was released in 2020. She is influenced by musicians like Mthunzi, Amanda Black, and Ami Faku, all of whom are talented musicians who have successfully infused African music with their unique creative viewpoints.

The members of the South African duo formed back in the 90s are Theo Kgosinkwe and
Nhlanhla Nsiza. They sing in the genre of kwaito, a local variety of house and pop music.
Their compositions successfully combine slow rhythms, African percussion, and vocals from
a mixture of English and the languages of South Africa's traditional Zulu and Kosa tribes. To top it all off, Mafikizolo are three-time winners of the South Africa Music Award and MTV Africa.

A blue-eyed blond, Swiss, and South African by blood, Jeremy Loops has gone from a
budding artist in his native Cape Town to a renowned international musician. In 2015, he
was the breakout artist of the year, performing on the Twenty One Pilots tour and playing his solos in Europe and the U.S., which drew as many as 30,000 listeners. His singles Waves, Freak and Critical As Water debuted in the top five on iTunes in the Netherlands,
Germany, Switzerland, Australia, and South Africa, paving the way for a world tour.

Petite Noir

Congolese artist Yannick Ilunga (Petite Noir) was born in Brussels but grew up in South
Africa, where he became a musician. Yannick successfully combines African rhythms with
indie and electro compositions, turning any of his videos into art-pop art. His debut studio
album was released in September 2015, and in 2016, he began performing with American
hip-hop artist Danny Brown, cult rapper Kendrick Lamar, Canadian musician Mac Demarco,
and music writer Saul Williams. Perhaps Petite Noir sounds the most European of the
African performers.

Amanda Black

The South African singer Amanda Black started singing in her early childhood in the church
pew and continued on stage, choosing the genre of Afro-soul with a touch of hip-hop and
r&b. Listening to this singer, you know for a fact that her sources of inspiration were Beyoncé and Whitney Houston. In her compositions, she switches freely from English to her native tongue, emphasizing her belonging to this nation with her painted face and colorful outfits. In 2016, her single; Amazulu; was nominated for several music awards, and her first album went platinum three weeks after its release.
