He was eventually sworn in as Osun State’s sixth democratically elected governor on November 27, 2022, at the Osogbo Township Stadium.

Adeleke has now secured another term after contesting under the Accord Party in the August 16, 2026 election. According to INEC, he polled 511,067 votes to defeat the APC candidate, Bola Oyebamiji, who recorded 444,815 votes.
